German astronaut joins ISS crew | Journal

After years of training, Germany's Alexander Gerst is weeks away from blasting off to the ISS. The astronaut will travel aboard a Russian Soyuz capsule, with two colleagues from Russia and the US. On Monday, Gerst appeared on satellite link from the US to talk about the "Blue Dot" mission. He said the multinational expedition was not threatened by the current political divisions over Ukraine.
